Description |
Two-story frame, narrow rectangular building with entrance (south) in gabled end. South facade has central double door flanked by a 4/4 light window on each side. Two windows on second floor correspond with those on first floor. |
Significance |
Small porch over entrance, exterior chimney on west and outside stairway on east. Built in 1914 by Beverly and Lula Kerr as a Community center for blacks. Houses social activities and lodge meetings. USO center in World War II. Important social history of blacks in Bastrop. |
